‘Faith is not something to grasp; it is a state to grow into.’

— Mahatma Gandhi

To me, living by faith means not to worry about absolutely anything. Making mindfulness a way of life. Being more present and in tune with the divinity within me and the divine whispers from the Universe. Living by faith means enjoying life. Knowing and trusting that it is always unfolding as it should. In a way living by faith is giving up “my power”, only to watch my power return to me immeasurably greater. Living by faith is surrendering and fully trusting that I am here to live a good life.

‘For truly I tell you if you have Faith as little as a mustard seed you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you’

— Jesus of Nazareth

How do I live by faith?

The fact that Jesus tells us that faith doesn’t need to be big to be useful is significant. By admitting that small actions and small wins count as much as the big ones, we live by faith. My daily to-do list is enormous, especially when I’m feeling faithless. But when I pour myself into one thing only on any given day, I feel fulfilled — counting that as enough, and not pressured to move to next item on my ten-year-long to-do list. An unmatched feeling of satisfaction is what I get when I do anything, a lot or a little, by faith.

‘There is nothing that wastes the body like worry, and one who has any faith in God should be ashamed to worry about anything whatsoever.’

Mahatma Gandhi

Taking all me time, I feel, or I need at any time I want for “me time” is living by faith.

When it’s okay spending hours in the bathtub, listening to music, meditating or doing nothing at all I’m living by faith. Having nothing to do one day, nothing but rest, without feeling that we’re missing out, that we’re not productive, that we are not earning a living, or that we’re not in control and that disaster will follow. But feeling okay about doing whatever you please whenever you want for as long as you like. When we don’t feel stressed out with, by or for ‘time’ we are living by faith.

It’s okay to stop to feel the sun caressing your face and treasuring that as a gift.

Or looking out the window and watching people pass. Or going for a walk without the intention of doing your 10K steps but merely wanting to smell the flowers. Being okay with all the “noise” of this information overload era, without letting it bother you. Happily stopping in the middle of the day to take a nap and waking up feeling rested, not feeling guilty. Being okay with spending much longer than you planned doing something you love. Being happy or at least calm with unexpected delays, negatives, rejections or change of plans.

‘The keys to patience are acceptance and faith. Accept things as they are, and look realistically at the world around you. Have faith in yourself and in the direction you have chosen.’

— Ralph Marston

When I’m living by faith, I’m not so busy even if I have one million things to do. I do things mindfully with leisure, at a pace that is comfortable and easy.

Faith helps me to be okay with not knowing the exact path to the fulfilment of my dreams and with not having absolute control over what happens next yet I know that things are always working out for us and that we must allowing for the magic surprises to show up.

‘None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still, we go forward because we trust. Because we have Faith.’

– Paulo Coelho

It’s Okay to feel good.

If we are not living by faith, we sometimes don’t dare to feel good without a specific reason. When in fact, feeling good for no reason at all is the evidence that all is well and that we have everything we need and more of it on its way to us.

We learn to focus on what is essential.

Through my desire to live by faith, I have decided to focus solely on what is most important at any given moment. Prioritising and spending all the time needed on the one thing that is essential. Everything else that needs doing will be taken care of in due course with our without my help.

‘A man of courage is also full of Faith.’

— Marcus Tullius

Prioritising Enjoyment: Eat Drink and be Merry!

‘Eat Drink and Be Merry’ is the conclusion of a man who is thought to be the wisest and known to be the richest ever to walk this planet, King Solomon Son of David. He arrived at this conclusion after spending the majority of his life studying the purpose of and meaning of life.

When I live by Faith, I prioritise laughter and enjoyment. I see the good times as the essential time to be lived. I literary pad myself in the back every time I catch myself laughing.

I do live with two of the most beautiful people on this planet, so laughter comes as an easily given every day.

‘Faith is permitting ourselves to be seized by the things we do not see.’

— Martin Luther

It’s okay to love oneself with all of one’s flaws

… and imperfections. Recognising that it’s okay not to be perfect and genuinely embracing imperfection is faith. Success is not about being perfect but about being confident and bold. Fulfilment does not need a perfect life, but it does require that we embrace who we are. Self-compassion is critical. Be kind and loving to you. Treat yourself as you would treat any other loved one.

Genuine gratitude catalyses our level of acceptance of who we are and how we truly embrace our being. Intensely appreciating everything you love in your life and seeing it as a blessing is living by faith.

Looking for and point out the evidence that all is well and celebrating it often is living by faith. All the good you see in your life is the proof that you are getting guidance and all support that it is inherently yours. You are a co-creator with source creation; you are on the right path.

‘Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.’

— D. Elton Trueblood

When I’m living by Faith, I dream of my dreams often.

In Faith, I’m okay with exploring my dreams endlessly, accepting that doing nothing but imagining what I desire as a reality, with trust and emotion is a vital part of the process of creation.

Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof.

— Khalil Gibran

When I’m living by faith, I expect, and I accept help.

Feeling guided and accepting guidance is living by faith, knowing that we don’t have to do it all alone. We are simply not supposed to do anything alone. Support is always on the way as long as we ask for it and expect it. Both the open and heartfelt acknowledgement that we need help and that we can have as much as we want and acceptance of it is living by faith.

‘Faith embraces many truths which seem to contradict each other.’

— Blaise Pascal

Talking to your angels and beliving in your celestial team is living by faith. Angels, spirit guides, loved ones who passed and more. Your celestial team is all in for you.

I speak with my angels regularly. They are here to help us with anything we need, from the smallest details like choosing a dress to wear to the most prominent tasks, like prepping for a job interview. But our angels won’t interfere unless we ask them or of course, in extreme situations such as life or death when the angel guarding us knows there is a higher plan for us thus our time has not come.

Do talk to your angels. There are many here to help you in different areas of your life. Ask them to help you with specific tasks. Invoke them. They are angels for, money matters, for better relationships, to overcome fear and limiting beliefs. An angel to be with you in the morning. An angel to help you find your soulmate. An angel that will help you chill out more or help you learn faster or improve a specific skill. The list goes on. If you don’t ask for your angels’ assistance, be aware that you are making them unemployed.

‘Your guardian angel is always communicating with you.’

‘Your guardian angel loves you. You are precious to it. You are the most important person in the world to this angel.’

― Lorna Byrne, Angels In My Hair

Listening to Intuition is living by faith.

Tune in, learn to hear the voice of your higher self and always listen; Believe in miracles and magic. Expect them in your life. Invoke them or provoke them with your thoughts. Self-proclaiming yourself a supernatural, miraculous being.

‘Without Faith, a man can do nothing; with it, all things are possible.’

— Sir William Osler

Whenever I resist living by faith, I have to remind myself that having faith, in my spiritual path is not advisory; it is a command.
