BUILDING MENTAL RESILIENCE MATTERS NOW MORE THAN EVER

It is in a period of crisis that our preparedness for an emergency is most exposed.

Without the presence of a crisis, the state of affairs of our level of preparedness would never be made manifest. In this current situation, we can either curse the darkness or choose the other option :light a candle.

What we do now and how we react will determine what is our state at the exit point of the crisis.

We have a choice to make. To choose whether we will drag our feet through this crisis along with our bag-n-baggage or go through this period becoming wiser because we have chosen to travel light.

The most visible changes we can make is to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

How do we do this?

Letting go of the baggage as we move forward and becoming lighter.

What is the baggage?

We have to introspect and see. We will know only when we have examined ourselves. Without self-examination, it is not possible. It is an interior thing.

Our mental resilience will be enhanced when we get a clear grip on our interior life. It is said, the softest pillow is a clear conscience.

The two greatest things that bring healing to a diseased soul is :

Forgiveness and

Repentance

It is said, when we forgive, we set free a prisoner, and later we realize that the prisoner is us.

With regard to repentance, it is a sine qua non for grace to flow in our souls. It is only when we have eliminated these two blocks from our existence that our human faculties will start functioning, thereby restarting our mechanism for optimally utilizing our endowments.

As Arundhati Roy has said,

We have to choose, because we have to make a choice. Either to drag our way through this crisis and come out on the other side with no improvements, or to let go of any baggage and travel light, coming to the other side wiser and better through the experience, more resilient than ever.

And that should be the end of every rational thinking man, to ask himself, What is it that I really want?

It is the personal as well as a social duty and responsibility of every man woman and child to choose well, to contribute to a world that will benefit from our mutual efforts and concern for the overall well-being and future of our common world of which we are a part of.

Building mental resilience is a function of grace. And grace will function fully in the human being only when the impediments are removed.

I HAVE FOUND PEACE BY CONNECTING TO MY INNER SELF, AND IT IS ONLY WHEN YOU ARE AT PEACE WITH YOURSELF CAN YOU CONNECT TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.THIS GLOBAL CRISIS IS A WAY OF BRINGING THE WORLD TO CONNECT TO EACH OTHER, THE CONNECTION WE HAD LOST. LET US NOT WASTE A GOOD CRISIS.
