It’s hard to create a narrative for a big comeback story, even though I have one. Others have found inspiration in my “big stories”. If I could keep going, they can too. But for me, the comebacks are daily micro ones- making small decisions to set aside unkind words (this isn’t about me), or address financial stress (minor or grand) by taking care of what is realistic and putting the rest in a “later bin”. It’s also painting a wall or learning how to fix the refrigerator via Youtube in response to online device stress of any kind.
For some of us, in darker periods of the mind or body- a shower is a great accomplishment.
The biggest challenge for me is wasting time on issues, worries or people that I can’t control or change. Being able to move on with my day and finding laughter despite “all of the things” has more impact on me than the “…and I didn’t die!” comeback tale.
