My friends don’t feel bad for me when I say I’m suffering from a hangover. I don’t blame them. After all, I was the one who drank the wine, and now I’m paying the price.

But I also don’t think everyone suffers from hangovers quite the same. For me, the pounding headache comes first, then nausea and full-body fatigue without a wink of sleep in sight. The only option is to order pizza, which I probably won’t be able to eat, and switch the TV over to Netflix.

There aren’t many options for those of us who suffer from severe hangovers. Sure, everyone will tell you to drink a glass of water before bed or pop two Tylenol first thing in the morning. But those of us who really fall into that pit of nausea, headache and despair know it takes much more than Tylenol to feel better. In fact, it usually takes an entire day in bed, and sometimes the lack of motivation can spill over into another day. That’s right — a two-day hangover.

The two options I’ve always found available are to go out with my friends, drink, then endure the brutal hangover the following day. Or, make the decision to forego drinking entirely. While I know this is a viable option, it sure has put a damper on the amount of fun nights I have with friends. In fact, I’ve made so many excuses to avoid drinking that my friends no longer think I’m interested in hanging out with them.

The truth is, I want to be able to have fun evenings with friends, and I want to be able to drink more than ½ a glass of my favorite wine without worrying about the impending headache and nausea. However, I found myself choosing the second option of staying home while my friends out more often than not. That was until a day that changed my view on hangovers forever.

Another fun occasion with friends came up — they were all going to a New York Giants game and would be tailgating ahead of time. Partially because I LOVE the New York Giants and mostly because I truly miss these memorable moments with my best friends, I started to research ways to combat my hangover. And because of my aversion to unnatural or chemical ingredients, I searched, “all-natural hangover cures.”

The usual responses were there, just below the search bar. Coconut water, activated charcoal, ginger to fight the nausea. Sure, they all sounded like they could possibly help some of my symptoms, but I’d have to consume about nine items to combat every ailment.

That’s when I saw a link to OverEZ. It was advertised as a natural hangover pill that you take before you have any drinks. It works to protect your liver and other organs before alcohol arrives to cause damage. With a long list of natural ingredients, like magnesium, chicory root, milk thistle extract, L-cysteine, zync, and more, I felt like I finally found a single product that could help. No more trying to hold down three glasses of coconut water, ginger, artichoke extract, and a balanced breakfast.

It sounded a little too good to be true, but with the big game approaching, I clicked “Buy OverEZ.” Two days before football Sunday, the little blue package arrived. My first purchase was for four capsules, so I took one before the game and decided to let my three friends try the others, so we could all come to a consensus on how we felt the next day. We took the capsules, tailgated, had some drinks throughout the game, and crashed back at the hotel with our stomachs full and a big Giants win.

The next morning, I sat up in bed and fearfully opened my eyes. I waited to feel the usual symptoms — pounding headache, extreme thirst, and that stomach-churning nausea. I walked over to wake my friend, and couldn’t believe it — there was nothing. No headache. No nausea. I even felt an interesting feeling of clarity and boosted energy.

Thinking perhaps it wasn’t the OverEZ tablet and that maybe I had just gone crazy, I asked my three friends who took OverEZ before drinking as well. I received the same responses.

“I feel great!”

And, “I think I actually feel better than I did before drinking!”

They asked me where the heck I bought these miracle pills, and we all hopped on Amazon to purchase a larger pack. Not only am I thankful I didn’t have to deal with a hangover after such a memorable day with friends, but I’m thankful I don’t have to forego future days like that. I no longer have to choose between feeling good and having fun with friends.
