Working from home is new for most Americans . The additional challenge of working among family brings even more to think about and plan in the days.

Here are some tips that we are using at our homes to bring work life balance and hope these are helpful for you.

1. Form a schedule for key activities in your day. If you used to go to the gym, set aside a time and place for this at your home. This may have to alternate to new tools that involve working out at home. Luckily there are many experts who offer these videos for free on Youtube and other platforms.

2. Practice self care to take care of the uncertainty of the day to day. We all have the unexpected external changes happening in the world due to the pandemic. Actively planning additional self care is critical to give yourself the support that is needed. This could include a variety of activities including listening to calming music, reading, writing, spending time taking a short walk (with physicial distance from others of course), attending concerts online, appreciating art online, and even meditation. This time offers a unique opportunity to spend time on activities that you may not have before.

3. Allow yourself time to adjust to changes. Be patient with yourself as change is not always easy. If you find yourself feeling a little frustrated, accept that is ok and normal part of the process. Notice which areas are most challenging or causing anxiety and see if there are support measures you could put in place. Maybe a ritual or proess to prepare yourself. We are here to help with especially helping manage and navigate change or working online. Please reach out to us with any questions.
