According to the report compiled by UNHCR, in 2018, on average, six people died every day crossing the Meditteranean Sea to reach Europe.
The problem is, it is not the tale of one year. It has become a ritual that repeats itself every single day. Hundreds of people who leave their lands each day, without looking back, to flee the miseries of war become the victims of the border insensibility and regulations. The question is, why don’t the world feel the pain of these people? Why do we value land more than life?
For years humanity has become a puppet in the hands of politics and politicians to satiate their greed for power. Bickering over the boundaries, the so-called society sympathizers do not care that their avarice for land and authority is costing us so many precious lives, and shattering the morals of humanity.
Look around you. Every debate in the world is about borders and boundaries. The influential is invading the land and the honor of the helpless. Actually, the problem lies within us. We have started associating the honor with the territory and power. We need to realize that the demarcations are nothing except the elements of rift and discord among humanity. We need to treat this malignancy before it’s too late.
It is time that the world unite together. It is time we defy the boundaries and the tricks of the politicians that have given us nothing except racism, hatred, and discrimination. It is time we value life more than land. It is time to stand up for our rights of freedom. It is time we support #NoBordersNoPolitics.
