Google has created a radically simple way to get your kids off their smartphones: Turn off the internet. Google Wifi now allows parents to schedule times when internet access is paused on specific devices. The company suggests homework hours and bedtime as prime times to give the feature a go.

Google Wifi announced the “Scheduled Pause” feature yesterday, created with the entire family in mind. The idea is that setting limits to internet access (for kids and parents alike, we hope) will encourage healthier boundaries with technology and give parents more control of their kids’ screen time.

It’s the latest in a slew of advancements that show how the tech world is evolving with an eye towards making unplugging easier. The “Scheduled Pause” is a change we can all implement in our lives, whether we have kids or not.
