Hollywood sees a new wave of creative talent every year. These new actors, producers, directors, writers, and more such artists, bring a unique flavor and perspective to creativity, thus enhancing the world of cinema. Jacob Kyle Young is one such millennial actor who is leaving no stone unturned to make his presence felt in Hollywood. Not only is he an exceptional talent but his hard work has also fetched him success in his very early years.
From short appearances in television shows to bagging more than 20 films, followed by a prominent feature, Young has come a long way since he started his career as an actor. His recent short film called ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2017. The Virtual Reality short is a story about two brothers on opposing sides of the Civil War, where Jacob Kyle Young plays one of the brothers. The film went on to be nominated for an Emmy as well.
The 25-year-old hails from Plano, Texas and after surviving a severe car-crash, he moved to Austin to work as a fitness trainer. While working at Gold’s Gym in the capital city, he stumbled upon an alternative career option, which would eventually become his true calling. He started taking acting lessons from Mona Lee and Marco Perella in Austin and joined commercial acting workshops. By the age of 21, he moved from Austin to Los Angeles, to try his luck in the big, bad world of Hollywood. With his determination, hard work, and sociable personality, he became a part of 20 independent films in record time. Gradually, he built a work portfolio that would earn him appreciation and recognition from his casting directors.
Due to his background in fitness, he himself developed an impressive physique and his amicable persona poses a striking contrast, creating an unconventional vibe about him. This has also helped him in his professional success, wherein he has managed to portray characters that span genres and time periods. From a war hero to a romantic lover, from athlete to bully, from an avenger to a boy-next-door, Young has experimented with various types of roles and managed to deliver them successfully.
His most recent work is a 2018 feature film titled ‘His Sunrise My Sunset’, based on the best-selling novel of the same name. Young is currently working on the production of his latest project named ‘Reach’, which would see him in a lead role, along with a couple of popular Hollywood actors.
Driven, ambitious and humble, Jacob Kyle Young is indeed shaping up to be how he defines himself- ‘New All-American male with a heart and smarts’.
