Being an entrepreneur you will find that your list of things to do is never-ending. With so much to accomplish in a day, it can be quite overwhelming. Although it may seem impossible to get anything accomplished there are a few hacks that you can use that will help boost your productivity.

Create a Schedule That Works the Best For You

A perk of being an entrepreneur is that you can set your schedule. Meaning you can create a schedule that fits your lifestyle and personality. Maybe you are an early riser and get more things done in the morning at 5 a.m. Or maybe you find yourself being more productive in the afternoon after having lunch. Regardless, build a schedule around your own preferences and turn out as much work as possible during the hours that you are the most productive.

Limit Your Distractions

It can be pretty easy to get caught in notifications from your phone, whether it’s texts, e-mails, or social media notifications. To avoid constantly getting distracted try checking your notifications on the go. When you are waiting in line, go up an elevator, or even going on a quick walk, use that time to look at your emails. To avoid social media alerts try putting your phone out your sight. If you need to have your phone close by, trying going into the settings of an app, and changing the notifications. Eliminating distractions from your phone can be a big game-changer when it comes to getting stuff done.

Define and Conquer Your MITs

MIT, is an acronym for Most Important Task. At the beginning of every day or the night before, take a few minutes and write down at least three, no more than five, tasks that you want to get done. Make these tasks your main priority and finish them first. Even if you can’t get to the other things on your to-do list, checking off your MITs will help you feel more proactive.

Abide by the Two-Minute Rule

Author and time management consultant, David Allen, developed the “Two-Minute Rule”, a rule that states that if an action can be completed in two minutes, you should do it right then and there. The simple rule helps make ensure that you aren’t wasting time and being more proactive with your time.

Work With, Not Against, Your Ultradian Rhythms

Throughout the day the body works in cycles every 90 to 120 minutes. These cycles are know as ultradian rhythms, during these cycles we are provided with signals that tell us if we are hungry, stressed, or angry. Rather than fighting the ultradian rhythms, embrace them and work in blocks of 90 minutes. After a block of 90 minutes has passed, take 15 minutes to reset yourself by taking a walk, taking the time to eat, or even taking a quick nap.
