Grant Me Serenity!

In our fast-paced lives, we tend to give more than we receive. No one wants to feel selfish for taking care of themselves, yet that’s what we tend to do. There is always something more important that can’t seem to wait. Well, we’re here to tell you it can. Here are a few ideas on how to slow down and take those moments to help recharge, regenerate, and be your best self.

Pranayama Breathing

Celebrities like Adam Levine and Miley Cyrus are huge fans of yoga. Yoga does not consist solely of the asanas or movements. It also includes breathing techniques called pranayama.

When feeling stressed, use your thumb and ring finger to cover your nostrils for the Deer Seal. Breathe in through your right nostril while sealing the other. Count to five. Release and exhale through the left. Inhale again through the left and switch sides. Continue breathing in this manner for several minutes, five being best. Feel the stress melt away and continue with your day!

CBD Oil

Having trouble sleeping? Suffering from anxiety? CBD oil can help you. People have been singing the praises of CBD oil for years. They boast benefits such as a deeper and longer night’s rest. Many have reported a marked decrease in anxiety that provides them increased focus. However you choose to take CBD, a favored method is vaping. You can buy pre-filled CBD oil cartridges that make it easy for you to take your daily dose and find your inner peace.

Take a Shower

As a parent or busy professional, taking the time for a bath may not be an option. Taking a shower is! Grant yourself five minutes of solitude with a shower loofah and some fantastic smelling, moisturizing body wash. Keep the water cool for the rejuvenating benefits. You’ll feel refreshed and smell amazing!

Hear the Music!

Write a Post-it and stick it somewhere in your house. Don’t forget. You love music! Strap on that MP3 player and listen to your favorite tunes while doing chores or driving. Listening to music has been proven to improve memory function and healing rates. Who doesn’t want to dance it out sometimes?

Work it Out!

Speaking of music, we all have our favorite workout mix. When was the last time you listened to yours? If you can’t remember, it’s been too long! Now, your workout does not have to be extreme. It doesn’t even have to happen in a gym! No need to feel bad about missing a session here or there, or three months…or more.

We’re not athletes or movie stars buffing up for a role. No judgment here! Taking 10 minutes a day to work on getting your steps in or doing some restorative yoga will not ruin your schedule. You can even do yoga at your desk!

Vitamin D, Please!

It’s easy to come home and head to the couch. Netflix is calling! Don’t worry. It’ll be there when you get back. Take a walk around the block. Check out the foliage. Say hello to your neighbors. The exposure to sunlight will boost your vitamin D and increase your serotonin levels. Why not include a furrier friend and head to the local shelter to help out with walking the shelter pups? Happiness, level up!

Simple But Effective

It’s important to remember to take time for yourself whenever you can. Even if it’s only 5 minutes, it will do wonders for your mental and physical health. You’re busy, and we get that! Still, don’t forget to take those precious few minutes to help you revive your soul. Trust us. You’re more than worth it!
