The Miracle Project is a fully inclusive theatre, film, and expressive arts program for children, teens, and adults with autism and all abilities. Using groundbreaking and evidence-based methods developed by our award-winning founder, Elaine Hall, The Miracle Project focuses on the strengths and abilities inherent in its participants, providing tools to build communication, social skills, job skills, and friendships while developing a unique neurodiverse community. Through shared experiences with peers, individuals with autism and other disabilities find their voice, develop their talents, and rehearse for life.
Elaine Hall, Founder of The Miracle Project®, is a pioneer in using inclusive theatre to connect with individuals with autism and all abilities. Elaine was a top Hollywood acting coach when her son was diagnosed with autism. When traditional therapies did not work, she developed an innovative creative-based methodology, now evidence-based, to reach him. She is the author of two critically acclaimed books, Now I See the Moon, a memoir, and Seven Keys to Unlock Autism: Making Miracles in the Classroom used as a text book at Brown University. Hall also developed Inclusion from WithIn (I WIn)® a low-cost, highly effective way for organizations to become more inclusive of all abilities and disabilities.
This Sunday, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and The Miracle Project present Identity: The Musical —an original story about a seemingly “perfect” world of the future in which everyone’s “identity” (ie. careers, marital status, etc.) is determined for them based on data from observations, social media, and online habits gathered during their first 21 years of life. Created with and starring actors with autism and of all abilities, this musical imagines a world with zero-pollution, zero-crime, zero-poverty but also zero self-determination.
