Ron Stackler entertained & inspired the Malibu Toastmasters in the exact same room of the beachfront The Sunset Restaurant he once got married about 8 years ago with his beloved wife Sandy Stackler. His wife has been crowned twice in a row with the most important awards by the club for earning the most education awards. Malibu Toastmasters ranks #1 club in the world earning education awards among more than 16,600 clubs in 143 countries.
The special host Adriana Sorgi led the special event successfully with 3 main parts of the meeting:
1. Table Topics
2. Prepared Speeches & Speech Evaluations
3. Keynote Address by RON STACKLER entitled “ALL THE THRILLS OF CRIMINAL LAW, WITH NICE CLASS OF CRIMINALS”
SUMMARY:
During this special event, we were all in awe with Ron Stackler with his charismatic demeanor and compelling & entertaining stories in his 60-year service as an attorney in both states Illinois and California.
At the end, Mr. Stackler announced the winners for Table Topics & Best Speaker Awards which were Sandy Stackler and Kirrily Keayes. Both earned a memory course/speed reading sessions generously donated by Malibu Education.
DESCRIPTION:
We started with Table Topics led by Jose Angel Manaiza Jr on questions regarding Ron Stackler’s journey. Everyone participated and did a phenomenal job including Amy Romero, Lisa Robyn Deutsch, Hunter Nelson, Adriana Sorgi, Dana Zappala, Sandy Stackler.
Then followed by prepared speeches by:
1. “Malibu Toastmasters Over NSA” by JAM, Jr.
2. “A Way of Gratitude” by Lisa Robyn Deutsch
3. “Fasting” by Lisa Goldenthal
4. “My Life” by Kirrily Keayes
Finally, we concluded this special event with the keynote we were waiting for. During Ron Stackler’s keynote address, you were entertained and inspired by the same time. We learned through Mr. Stackler’s anecdotes, stories, and real life experiences regarding the importance on ethical standards in maintaining certain professional licenses.
1. Professional licensing has been inadequate to protect the public that is forced to use the licensees for important services.
2. A profession that convinces states to license its members for the exclusive right to perform its services is more interested in protecting its economic turf from non-licensed competition than it is in protecting the public who must use its members.
3. The state does not actively regulate or inspect the licensee, but rather reacts to patient, client or customer complaints against a licensee before that state does anything. The licensee can always get another license in another state if he loses in one state.
At the end, we concluded with Ron Stackler announcing the winners.

Sandy shared vividly about her love story with Ron and how they met and eventually got married in The Sunset Restautant 12 years later. WOW all things are possible with the power of love. What a love story Franco Simplicio!
Kirrily Keayes followed the advice of Sandy Stackler by preparing diligently her speech, gave an remarkable memoir of her life from being born in Australia, raised in Canada, and eventually her divine destination to Malibu. Both special awards were presented by keynote speaker Ron Stackler at the end of the special event.

Born July 30, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. Attended primary school in Chicago and in a suburb, Highland Park, Illinois and graduated Highland Park High School, in 1955. Graduated Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, with a BA, Magna Cum Laude, 1959. Graduated University of Chicago Law School with a JD degree in 1962. Served as a Law Clerk for two U.S. District Court judges in 1963 and 1965. Passed the Bar and was licensed to practice law in Illinois in 1962 and in California in 1968. Served as Director of Professional Licensing of the State of Illinois from 1973–1977. Ran for election as Attorney General of Illinois in 1976 ….. and lost. Practiced in Illinois and in California until 2018, when | retired my licenses in both states. Personal: 4 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Married to Sandy Reid Stackler since 2011.
