Some people are so poor, that all they have is money.
Patrick Meagher
WHAT CAR DO YOU DRIVE?
If you are poor, you take the bus.
If you are having a hard time financially, you probably drive an old beaten up car, it doesn’t matter how old, as long as it drives!
If you are just OK, probably in the past saved up and bought a nice more expensive model, that is now 10 years old, but still, in good shape, you take good care of it and still looks good, so you still feel ok driving it.
If you have money to spend, probably you have a new model, and trade it in as soon as the new appears! The ultra-rich have collections of cars and drive a different one each day of the week, or according to the mood.
But whatever it is, an old car or the most expensive model, the car serves a simple purpose: They take us from point A to point B.
WHAT PHONE DO YOU USE?
The cheapest smartphone sell for about 50US, the most expensive for about 2,600 US, it has 512 GB! You can also buy a normal phone for almost nothing.
But whatever the price, the main use of the phone is to make a call! Everything else in it is a plus, however, being able to make a call, is the main asset.
DO YOU FLY OFTEN?
I have a family of four, every time we fly, I multiply the cost of the ticket by 4, and is always surprising the difference of the cost of flying economy, business or first class!
Extra comfort aside, those that fly for 600 US and those that fly for 3,000US, they all get to the same destination and at the same time.
Interesting.
WHAT TIME IS IT?
You can buy a Casio for 10 US.
The most expensive one?
- Breguet No. 160, US$30 million. …
- Chopard 201 Carat US$ 25 million. …
- Patek Philippe Supercomplication, US$ 24 million.
Yet, they all tell time the same way!
1-THE STANDARD OF OUR LIVING.
We work hard and strive to increase our standard of living.
When we attain wealth, nothing is too good for us. Money is to be spent, right?
Things have value, this is how many people measure themselves, on the things that they own, but this doesn’t always translate into happiness and well being!
If you can afford it, buy the expensive watch and fly first class, is great, just don’t do it at the price of compromising your values and integrity.
Workers may or may not have enough to eat, but at least they can get a good night’s sleep. The rich, however, have so much that they stay awake worrying.
Ecclesiastes
There is more to life than what money can buy.
2- THE STANDARD OF OUR LIFE!
This is the standard that brings you the greatest happiness! We need to pay more attention to those things, those people and situations that truly bring happiness to our lives.
Family, friends, honesty, love, health, loving relations, character.
Happiness is defined in the quality of our relations with the people in our lives, the meaningful bonds of love we forge with those closest to us.
Love and relationships are what brings meaning to our lives.
MOST OF THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE!
- Hugs.
- Friends and family.
- Smiles.
- Sleep.
- Laughter.
- Happy memories.
- Love.
and are also the most neglected.
