Quite often it seems that many of my clients are working through similar things so the same subjects and patterns come up in conversations each week. And over the past few weeks, there are 5 things that have come up. In fact, they’re top 5 things that come up regularly in my work as a coach.

Five things that derail visionaries with big dreams

1. Procrastination.
It comes in a variety of forms: busyness or doing things that don’t really matter (yet), thinking you need just one more course or one more class or to learn one more thing so you can do it right and not really planning or knowing what’s next. And — procrastination is also a form of perfectionism.

2. Perfectionism.
Like it’s counterpart, procrastination, it too comes in a variety of forms like thinking everything literally has to be perfect before you can start or that every single piece has to be perfectly in place before you can share your message. It also sometimes (often) looks like being hard on yourself and expecting yourself to be the best at everything you do.

3. Taking on too much.
Saying yes to everything that crosses your path — even when you really want to say no. It’s also often about hiding — you take on SO MUCH stuff for both yourself and others (both business/vision related and non-business/vision related), that you have no time to do what really matters. Like all those courses you signed up for? Yeah, those. You probably don’t truly *need* them in order to really do your thing in the world.

4. Trying to do it all.
You feel like you have to be the superhero in your life and business, like your big vision depends on it. Well, you know what? It really doesn’t. It’s absolutely ok to ask for — and fully receive — help. You do not have to do it all. And you certainly do not have to do it all alone.

5. Too little down time.
This is most certainly the biggest thing. You’re so busy, have so much to do and it all has to be perfect AND you have to do it all alone so there is NO FREAKIN’ WAY you can take break, right? Well. . . bullshit. Yes, you can.

Look, my friend — all of these are based in lack and fear. They shout distrust in both yourself and the Universe. And they are not in alignment with your vision.

I know what it feels like to have a H-U-G-E vision. One that feels urgent. One that feels like it has to be done RIGHT NOW. A vision so huge, it feels like one (or ten!) sizes too big for you. With so many parts and pieces and ideas coming fast and furious. I get it.

And that’s exactly why you must be strategic about what you’re doing and when you’re doing it. That’s exactly why following your heart and soul, trusting your intuition and listening deeply to what the vision wants to become is so much more important than anything else.

It’s not about doing what everyone else is doing. It’s about creating frameworks and processes that work for YOU.

And I’ll be back in the next day or two to share with you the process I use to help clients create Frameworks.

In the meantime, feel free to check out The Badass Trailblazer Mentorship Program — a program I created especially for visionaries who are ready to take the leap. To start creating something meaningful NOW.
