Online education is one of those many ways. And today I’m going to share with you tips that you can implement quickly to earn money teaching online.

To facilitate your reading, I propose a course that will answer the majority of your questions before you start (you can also follow my training on how to earn $100 / month by teaching online to prepare well).

How much can you charge for a course online?

When talking about defining the price of a course (or course), there are four things to consider for teachers pay teachers:

  • The exclusivity/rarity of the course.
  • The big challenge that an audience wants to raise in its field.
  • What are the outcomes that your students expect from taking your course?
  • Who are the students? What are their different profiles?

This means that if I create a course to learn to be ready to go into space in a week, that you are an aspiring astronaut and that is your dream, there is a good chance that this idea for you has a priceless … you might even be willing to buy this $ 120,000 course if you had the guarantee after you could go into space.

My experience has shown me that the price is only a numerical value … A small price will not help to sell better, it’s even the opposite …

When people buy something less than $10, or they acquire easily, psychologically they are less attached to this thing. In the field of education, a low-cost course gives students who will not complete the lessons and may not apply them.

In real life, the tea bag you bought for 3 francs / 6 cents will be consumed next year. The tool/vehicle of lesser quality assumed will be pushed to the end until the breakdown, etc.

All you need is a course to teach online

Our instinct lets us think that the more courses we offer, the more money we will earn by teaching online.

This is not true. As for the products of an e-commerce shop. Some courses sell much well than others. That is if you find a truly exclusive and specific subject to teach, and you are aiming for, you only need one course to make a comfortable complementary income each month.

But your course must have the particularity to be “imperishable”, that is to say, to bring the same value and to obtain the same results that a student looks at in 2018, or in 2042.

The interest of having only one course is that it is easy to improve steadily, which also allows you to increase its price little by little, and to concentrate your promotional efforts. On this course.

Constantly analyze what your students may need (and demand) to accomplish their goals and upgrade your course accordingly.

Here’s how to attract new students:

The ideal way to start selling online courses is to have an audience (a list of emails for example). But emailing is only one of what could be called “pupil acquisition channels”.

Most marketers will advise you to make a blog, capture emails, establish a relationship with the registrants, and then send a commercial offer. That’s good, but it’s “ONLY ONE” student acquisition channel…

Same if you have a blog, a YouTube channel, a page / Facebook group, a twitter account: each of them represents a student acquisition channel.

The easiest way to do this is to offer a free course/coupon to get the student into the conversion process. That’s what I advise you: make a free version of your course, fast enough to consume, and hyper interesting, and then propose an upgrade to the premium version.

This approach will allow you to have at least one way to communicate with those who take the free courses. You have the means to communicate with them. And it will help to increase your popularity and that of your course.

If you go through social networks, use group systems or private messages to get in touch.

Should I send discount offers?

The promo offer is a great way to sell to students you have already attracted. But there are some rules to respect:

  • Have a premium price of the product high enough (so that the user feels the difference).
  • Give a reason to be the promo that seems valid.
  • Do not make specials above 30% off.
  • Give a pretty short deadline.

If the deal you propose seems good for your students, they will not want to miss the opportunity to achieve their goal and overcome the big challenge of a field…

In the worst case, sending them a promo offer will allow them to remind you that you exist and that you can teach them the skills they want.

What if I cannot find students willing to buy my classes?

You will get there: there will always be people ready to learn something new that can bring them an advantage in their life … Keep insisting with your different acquisition channels and you will see that you will make sales, sometimes even direct selling, if you choose this approach.

That is to say that people who do not know you yet, will be exposed to your offer, find it interesting and buy your courses on their first visit on the page of your course.

I urge you to train in web marketing to acquire the knowledge and techniques necessary to communicate effectively on the different channels of student acquisition. It will only help you do things right.

Failure does not exist in online training, just insist again and again, and you will make sales for sure.
