Key SEO Strategies From A Top SEO Company

Building SEO authority would take years!!”

That’s what a beginner blogger told me at an SEO workshop.

And it is true.

If you want to compete with the big players in your niche, you need a lot of high-quality backlinks to your website.

Because building backlinks can take a lot of time and resources, most beginners think that they will have to work hard for months before they can start making any money from their blogs.

THAT’S NOT TRUE!

I do not deny the importance of backlinks in SEO. They were and still are one of the most essential parts of SEO.

But here’s something most experts don’t tell you:

You only need backlinks to rank for high-traffic keywords.

Trying to rank for a keyword like “Best Shoes” will require thousands of backlinks.

But…

Ranking for a keyword like “Best Running Shoes For Men 2019” will require little to no backlinks at all.

If you are just starting out, I would highly recommend you to start with Long Tail Keywords.

Ranking for short, high-competition keywords is near impossible for a brand new site. On the other hand, ranking for long tail keywords is not just easy but also takes no time at all.

Now, not all long tail keywords are created equal.

Most long tail keywords may help you build your email list and get some visitors to your blog but won’t make you any money.

You don’t want to target informational keywords.

You want to target keywords that have a buying intention.

What do I mean by buying intention?

When someone wants to buy a product, here’s what their search queries will look like:

Best Basketball Shoes For Men 2019
Nike Jordan 4187 Shoes Review
Best Gaming Laptops Under $2,000

If you target keywords like these, you can easily promote your affiliate link in your articles.

If you are in the tech niche, you should target keywords like “Best Android Phones Under $500.”

Although keywords like this have low traffic, they are easy to rank and will help you start generating commission right from the start of your blogging journey.

Here are some more examples for long tail keywords with buying intent:

Best XXXX Under $500
Top Python Programming Courses 2019
Best Back Support Accessories For Older People

If you aren’t sure where to find long tail keywords, try SEMRush. It’s a great tool that can give you an edge over your competitors. This tool can help you build authority in your niche within months.

It’s a tool used by total newbies and SEO experts alike.

If SEMRush seems too expensive, you can try KWFinder. It’s a similar tool but costs a little less and offers lesser features than SEMRush.

Find The Easiest To Rank Keywords

“Create great content and Google will reward you for it.”

That is what the so-called SEO Experts and Gurus suggest.

But that’s only half the equation.

Yes, you need to create high-quality content. I do not deny that.

But you also need to create content that targets a specific keyword.

Why?

Because if no one is searching for what you write about, no one will land on your website from Google.

Basically, not targeting keywords = 0 SEO traffic.

But here lies the big problem with targeting keywords:

Most of the profitable keywords are highly competitive and are impossible to rank for if you are just starting out.

Ranking for a keyword like “Best Speakers” is next to impossible if you don’t have thousands of dollars in your SEO budget.

On the other hand, ranking for a keyword like “Best Bluetooth Speakers Under $100” is relatively much easier. That’s what a long tail keyword looks like.

Although long tail keywords don’t get a lot of searches, if you target a lot of long tail keywords on your blog, you can easily reach thousands of visitors every month from Google.

Ranking for 3 Short Keywords will get you as much traffic as targeting 30 long tail keywords.

The only difference is that the former is a lot harder to rank for than the latter.

Targeting long-tail keywords are my favorite SEO strategy and is the main part of my SEO toolbox.

You Are Wasting Traffic Everyday

“Your bounce rate is really high. You are losing visitors and money,” he told me.

This was an expert blogger reviewing my website.

I was a little embarrassed to hear that.

Not because my bounce rate was high but because I didn’t know what bounce rate meant.

It had only been a year since I started my first blog. I was still learning the ropes of blogging.

Back then I didn’t understand how important the bounce rate is. I just ignored it when I saw it in my Google Analytics.

I couldn’t be more wrong.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your website after only visiting one page.

If you want to sell something to your visitors, you need to make sure they read more than just one page on your website.

If you want to make more money with AdSense, you need to make sure people view more Ads by visiting more pages.

Basically, people visiting more pages = more money for you.

If you are new to blogging, it can be really difficult to optimize your blog’s bounce rate. If you try to learn it on your own, it will take you years.

So, to help you cut your bounce rate in half, in today’s article, I will share with you:

What good bounce rate looks like and what you should aim for.
The 19 strategies you can use to dramatically reduce your website’s bounce rate.

Read 19 strategies to lower down bounce rate.

Follow this guide step by step, and you will cut your bounce rate in half, and most of your readers will stick on your website.
